Cucumber green spider
The cucumber green spider is a small spider with a bright green body, just like a little cucumber. It has a red spot at the very end of its tummy. It is so well hidden among the leaves that it does not even need a hiding place.

Its web is small, only about 10 centimetres across, with 15 to 30 spokes.
Baby spiders are red when they hatch, and turn brown before autumn.
It waits for its food sitting right in the middle of its web.
The mother sticks her egg sacs to the underside of leaves.
There is another spider that looks almost exactly the same. Scientists need a microscope to tell them apart.
