The glasswing butterfly has wings you can see right through, like little windows with dark brown frames. This helps it hide, because birds look straight through it. It lives in the rainforests of Central and South America.

Harmless. It cannot bite or sting. It tastes bad to birds, but it is no danger to people.
What does it eat?
The butterflies drink nectar, mostly from lantana flowers, and sometimes even nibble bird droppings. The caterpillars eat poisonous nightshade plants.
