The domestic house spider is a brown spider with striped legs that often lives in our homes. It builds a flat web with a little tunnel in a corner and waits inside. It is shy and quick, and runs off in short dashes.

Fun fact: spiders are not insects. Insects have six legs, spiders have eight. Everyone calls them bugs anyway!

Almost all over the world, in houses, sheds, cellars and attics
Length
0.6 to 1.1 cm (0.24 to 0.45 in)

What does it eat?
It eats insects that land on its web. When the threads shake, it rushes out, grabs the insect and pulls it back into its tunnel.
