The Brazilian salmon pink birdeater is a huge black tarantula with pinkish red hairs on its legs and body. It is one of the biggest spiders in the world. It lives on the forest floor in one small part of Brazil.

It is the fourth biggest tarantula in the world.
A big girl spider can weigh more than 100 grams, as much as a small apple.
When it is scared, it rubs off prickly hairs from its back end that make an attacker itch.
To grow, it lies on its back and wriggles out of its old skin.
